Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha named Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner as the most trusted players throughout the existence of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The two strikers are among the top scorers in the tournament and together they have played four seasons for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Despite their age, the two players are currently in their best years and have since been listed. The duo was wanted at the IPL 2022 mega auction, and their franchises got it at a significant price. Shikhar Dhawan bought the Punjab Kings for 8.25 million ₹, while the Delhi Capitals used Warner’s services for 6.25 million ₹.
Shikhar Dhawan has the ability to change gears: Pragyan Ojha
Noting Shikhar Dhawan’s adaptability at its peak in light of the circumstances, Pragyan Ojha told Cricbuzz: “For me, there are two players who have always been consistent. One is Dhawan and the other is David Warner. Dhawan can build innings as well as play aggressively. It maintains clarity well and plays in accordance with the situation. ”
The PBKS opener flawlessly took the role of anchor in the chase of 144 players against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday. He remained undefeated on 62 of 53 balls to cross PBKS across the line with four overs.
He conveyed a key partnership of 82 runs with Bhanuk Rajapaksa for the second wicket. The stand eventually became the foundation of running before Liam Livingstone came to smooth things over.
Partnership of Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa key to PBKS victory: Ajay Jadeja
Believing that another wicket partnership prevented GT from the game, former India player Ajay Jadeja said:
“If Punjab had lost a few more goals at the top, then the game would have been different. Rajapaksa came in and played his natural game while Dhawan stayed with his advantages. GT could not enter the game after this partnership. Livingstone was able to come in and play with freedom because of that partnership. ”
PBKS achieved its fifth victory in the tournament and thus placed at the top of the points scale. The GT again only went through their subsequent accident and kept pace with the lead at the top.
Harpreet Brar The best left-handed spinner in India: Ajay Jadeja
PBKS is taking long steps towards the playoff games on the backs of their players who are getting in shape. Kagiso Rabada added consecutive four-pass draws to his repertoire. Meanwhile, Sandeep Sharma and Arshdeep Singh have been dealing with things on both sides of the inning.
Praising PBKS ‘performance in bowling against GT, Jadeja said: “This Punjabi side has always been impressive to me. The bowlers did their job today. Rishi Dhawan’s bowling makes a difference. Rabada and Arshdeep are first class. They didn’t play Sandeep Sharma at first. We haven’t seen the best of Rahul Chahar yet.
“Now, there’s another bowler they used to play on the green tracks, now that he can play, he doesn’t play, and that’s Harpreet Brar. I don’t see any other left hand better than him in Indian cricket. “
PBKS will take over the following Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium on May 7 (Saturday).
