Three games, three draws to start the new year

Dabang Delhi KC remained undefeated in the league, but had to dig deep and make their way to a tie against Tamil Thalaivas as three closely fought matches on the first day of the new year did not witness a complete winner.

Pawan Sehrawat in the last second helped the Bengaluru Bulls draw an incredible 34-34 draw against the Telugu Titans in the 26th Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 match at The Sheraton Grand Whitefield, Bengaluru. The Titans dominated the game with two ALL-OUTs, but their inability to retain the lead in the final stages cost them the win.

Bengaluru Bulls had a bad day on the mat with Pawan Sehrawat who spent more than 20 minutes in
dugout, but the captain initiated the most important attempt of the match in the last second.
The Titans, despite morale depleting morale, will take positive results in the performance of their young striker
Ankit Beniwal who finished with Super 10.

Earlier, U Mumba and UP Yoddha played a tough fight 28-28 in match 25. Both sets of defensive players, especially Yoddha’s Sumit (6 catch points), made life difficult for the strikers as big names Pardeep Narwal and Abhishek Singh failed to make an impact. Mumbai had one point advantage in the last minute, but a mistake by their captain Fazel Atrachali gave Yoddhi a chance to equalize.

The spotlight before the match was Captain U Mumba Fazel Atrachali and his enemy Pardeep
Narwal of Yoddha. Mumbai’s left corner scored the most points (15) against the vivo PKL
The greatest scorer of all time Pardeep Narwal. But he started Rinku from the right corner of Mumbai
great in defense he tackled Pardeep Narwal successfully in his first attempt. Actually, Rinku
picked up 4 points in an attack in the first half dominated by defenders.

On the other hand, Sumit decimated all the attackers from Mumbai who came to look for points from his left
corner. With Nitesh Kumar joining the piece, it’s as if the UP Yoddha duo has rediscovered form
this made them successful in season 7. Abhishek Singh had a bad first half and was often caught
static on the left side of Yoddha. But whenever UP Yoddha sniffed ALL OUT, U Mumba produced some magic to stay in the match.

In the last game of the day, Naveen Kumar continued his great series of Super 10s, finishing the match with 15 points. But Thalaivas also did well to keep him away from the mat at crucial moments. It took a sharp attack by Sandeep Narwal with bruises in his last breath to make Delhi equalize at 30-30. It was the third game with Thalaivas this season.

Delhi remained at the top of the table, but those like the Bulls and UMumba remain at touch.
